One dead after northwest OKC house fire

Oklahoma City firefighters and police are investigating the death of an adult male found inside a northwest Oklahoma City home early Saturday morning.

Oklahoma City firefighters were called to a single-story home in the 4900 block of NW 32 at 1:27 a.m. Saturday, where an unresponsive man was found inside the front door, according to a report from the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

Firefighters attempted to resuscitate the man and two firefighters rode in an EMSA ambulance to the hospital where the man was pronounced dead. No other victims were found at the house.

When a death occurs at the scene of a fire, the Oklahoma City Fire Department works with the Oklahoma City Police Department’s homicide unit to investigate. The cause of the fire was not determined as of Saturday.

Firefighters estimated damages to the house and contents to be at $115,000. Firefighters found inoperable smoke alarms in the house.
