Don't Worry Darling helmer Olivia Wilde jokingly celebrated her skills as a king-making director while coaching her real-life boyfriend Harry Styles through the period thriller.

After sharing the first full trailer for the movie at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday, the Booksmart filmmaker called the project "ambitious" and went on to praise Styles' performance as a "revelation," with the pop singer portraying a 1950s husband keeping a dark secret from his spouse, a young housewife (Florence Pugh,), while they live in an experimental community.

She went on to playfully jab the 28-year-old Grammy-winning superstar, calling him "an up-and-coming actor with no other career that I'm aware of."

Olivia Wilde joked about discovering Harry Styles as an 'up-and-coming actor' for her new film 'Don't Worry Darling.'

Wilde told CinemaCon audiences that the film's themes are similar to those explored in movies like Inception, The Matrix, and The Truman Show, as "movies that push the boundaries of our imagination."

"I want you to imagine a life where you have everything you could want," she continued, noting that she pitched the movie to approximately 18 studios. "Not just material things… but true love and friendship. What would it take for you to give up that perfect life? Are you willing to dismantle the system that's designed to serve the world?"

Don't Worry Darling marks Wilde's first feature as a director since 2019's Booksmart, for which she earned strong critical praise.

Warner Bros. will release Don't Worry Darling in theaters Sept. 23.
