Olivia Rodrigo Teases Pageant-Themed ‘Obsessed’ Music Video

We’re “Obsessed” with Olivia Rodrigo’s album era, and now fans are getting a new music video.

The 21-year-old pop star took to Instagram on Wednesday (March 20) to tease the music video for her fan-favorite track, “Obsessed,” which is set to appear on the upcoming deluxe version of her sophomore studio album, Guts. In the preview clip, Rodrigo enters a hall full of women wearing beauty pageant sashes, each representing one of “his exes,” including “Miss Thought She Was the One,” “Miss Also Thought She Was the One,” “Miss 2 Summers Ago” and more. Rodrigo herself is sporting a “Miss Right Now” sash.

The theme matches perfectly with the jealousy-fueled lyrics, as Rodrigo chants in the chorus, “I’m so obsessed with your ex/ I know she’s been asleep on my side of your bed/ And I can feel it.” See the music video preview here. The full visual is set to arrive at midnight ET on Friday (March 22), the same day as the expanded Guts.

Rodrigo announced the news of Guts (Spilled) during the first night of her two-show stand at the United Center in Chicago on Tuesday night (March 19), surprising the crowd by unfolding a sign that read “Guts Deluxe Out Friday.” The expanded version of the 2023 collection will feature five more songs, including a new one, “So American,” which was recorded after the original album dropped last year. The other four songs on the expanded version were the “secret” tracks that appeared on a variety of GUTS vinyl releases: “Obsessed,” “Scared of My Guitar,” “Stranger” and “Girl I’ve Always Been.”
