Olivia Rodrigo to Honor 'One of Her Heroes' at the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The pop star joins a stacked lineup of performers including Elton John, H.E.R., Stevie Nicks and more

You might feel like you’re experiencing “deja vu” at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

For the second year in a row, Olivia Rodrigo will perform at this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which is to be broadcast live on Friday from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The organization revealed that the pop star, 20, had been added to the stacked performance lineup on Wednesday.

The news was announced with a post from Rock Hall on their Instagram. Although it wasn’t revealed which inductee the GUTS artist will be paying tribute to with a song, it did say she will “perform with one of her heroes.”

This year, Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, the late George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners make up the 2023 class.

Aside from the musicians, the late Soul Train creator Don Cornelius will be posthumously awarded the Ahmet Ertegun Award, which is given to a “non-performing industry professional” for their influence.

The “Vampire” singer joins an exciting roster of previously announced A-list stars who will honor this year’s class of inductees. In September, the first slate of performers was announced as Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews, Elton John, H.E.R., New Edition and St. Vincent.

Stevie Nicks was also later confirmed as a performer on Tuesday after she had been announced as a special guest in late October.

The event's slate of guests and presenters is just as star-studded — with Common, Ice-T, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Adam Levine, Miguel, Sia and Carrie Underwood all making an appearance.

Rodrigo made her Rock Hall debut performance at the 2022 ceremony, in which she honored Carly Simon. The Grammy winner recognized the iconic singer-songwriter with a rendition of her legendary hit “You’re So Vain.”

Although it’s unclear who the “Bad Idea Right?” singer will celebrate at the upcoming ceremony, she has expressed being a fan of both Rage Against the Machine and Crowe, 61, in the past.

In a Rolling Stone cover story from September, she told the outlet that the political rock group is her “favorite band right now.”

“I have been listening to so much Rage Against the Machine this year,” she said. “I would just play it over and over again on my way to and from the studio.”

Before it was confirmed that the singer-songwriter would make an appearance at the Rock Hall event, she even told Rolling Stone that she was upset that she didn't think she would be able to make it and see the band fronted by Zack de la Rocha be inducted.

“I want to go to the Rock Hall of Fame so bad because they’re getting inducted,” she said. “I am literally going to cry myself to sleep about it.”

As for Crow, the Sour artist and the folk-pop icon have linked up several times already. In 2022, the famed singer-songwriter presented Rodrigo with the Woman of the Year award at Billboard's Women in Music event.

More recently in September, the two hitmakers sang a duet of Crow’s beloved hit “If It Makes You Happy” at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.

After the performance, the former Disney Channel star took to Instagram to reflect on the experience and share photos of her with the country-pop artist. “Pinch me!” the pop-rock singer captioned the post. “Sang one of my favorite songs of all time with the greatest of all time @sherylcrow !!!! what an honor!!!!”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will broadcast live on ABC and Disney+ from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Friday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. ET.
