Olivia Rodrigo appeared as a guest on Tuesday’s nights episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she sat down for an interview and performed “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl” from her latest album, GUTS. However, prior to visiting the studio she caught a ride with Kimmel and his family as they drove to school.

Kimmel and his wife Molly surprised their children, Jane and Billy, by stopping to pick up a hitchhiker, who just so happened to be the 20-year-old pop singer. Rodrigo squeezed in the middle seat and led the kids in singing some backseat karaoke. Nine-year-old Jane Kimmel seemed particularly overwhelmed by the experience.

Meanwhile, during an interview with their dad, Rodrigo discussed how her family is dealing with her rise to fame and shared a funny anecdote about how her mom unintentionally implied that her daughter was a stripper. She also spoke about how she toned some of the lyrics to GUTS, her fear of ghosts, and attending a poetry class at USC.

For Record Store Black Friday, Rodrigo will unveil four “secret” tracks from GUTS with an exclusive vinyl being put out by her mentor Jack White’s Third Man Records.

Next year, Rodrigo will take her sophomore effort on the road with a massive world tour featuring support from Chappell Roan, The Breeders, Remi Wolf, and PinkPantheress. Grab tickets here.
