Olivia Pope’s Last Attempt to Sabotage Jake’s Wedding on ‘Scandal’

On Scandal, it’s been several weeks since Olivia killed Andrew Nichols, and she’s running away from her problems by sleeping in her childhood bedroom as Jake and Papa Pope try to get her back to normal. However, it’s all an act, and Olivia is secretly working with Quinn and Huck as a mole inside Papa Pope’s home to find out his real agenda. Shocking? I think not. And since Olivia only knows how to operate by playing games, she fakes being drunk and gets Jake to admit he isn’t in love with Vanessa. And, of course it works like a charm. Jake clearly knows she’s pretending but still tells her that he’s in love with her despite everything that has happened. Olivia has sex with Jake and succeeds in convincing him to call off the wedding.

Unfortunately for Olivia, Papa Pope, as always, is two steps ahead of his daughter. If Jake isn’t at the church on time, he’ll slit his throat. If Liv tells Jake the real reason he has to go through with his wedding, Papa Pope will slit his throat. And when he says that, he means it — and Olivia knows that. Suddenly, our helpless heroine breaks Jake’s heart once again. She tells him he’s too weak for her and that she’s in love with Fitz. She hurts him. Whatever it takes to get him down the aisle. Some pitiful sobbing and two threats later, Jake is married and no one has died.

Scandal airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
