Olivia Munn's Cool AF Braid-Ponytail Hybrid Is Your New Summer Must Do

Heads up: This weekend is said to be a sure to be a scorcher! To help beat the heat and keep your hair out of your face (and off your neck!), we’ve got the perfect updo to rock, courtesy of Olivia Munn.

We’ve tapped the actress’s hair guru, Scunci celebrity stylist Laura Polko to break down the look in this week’s Look of the Week so you, too, can look as cool as Munn under the fireworks this Fourth of July.

Inspired by the actress’ starry (and super-sheer!) ensemble, Polko wanted to create a “cool and easy” hairstyle that would complement the printed dress she wore to the 42nd annual Saturn Awards in Burbank, California.

“This look is a mix of everything — braid, pony and fishtails,” Polko tells PeopleStyle. “I French-braided to give her dimension, then transferred hair into a ponytail and then into a fishtail.”

To get the look, Polko first prepped the hair with a texturizing spray ( Ouai Wave Spray) before blowing out it out with a Harry Josh Pro Dryer and a round brush.

Once Munn’s strands were dry, Polko created a deep side part with the tail of a comb, and then sectioned off hair from the base, where she began loosely French-braiding the star’s tresses into a low, tiny ponytail in the front.

The hair pro then fishtail-braided the ponytail, secured with an elastic and then wrapped a gold Scunci Pony Cuff around the ends for a touch of gilded pizazz!
