Olivia Culpo Shares the One Thing She and Christian McCaffrey Will Not Do on Their Wedding Day (Exclusive)

"I'm really taking a laid-back approach," Culpo tells PEOPLE of her upcoming nuptials

Olivia Culpo is getting ready for her big day!

While speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at a dinner hosted by Culpo and nutritional supplements company Thorne in New York City on Tuesday, May 14, Culpo, 32, revealed the one thing she won't be doing when it comes to tying the knot with Christian McCaffrey, 27.

"I know for sure we're not going to do a first look, so he won’t see me until I'm walking down the aisle, I think that that's a little less common these days," she tells PEOPLE.

Culpo previously revealed that she's planning to have her dog Oliver play a part in the upcoming nuptials. "I think he'll be the ring bearer," the model and influencer adds to PEOPLE.

In terms of preparing for a "successful day," Culpo insists she's attempting to take a "laid-back approach" and not worry about it all too much.

"I think anything can happen at any moment when you are on the day. And I'm just trying to prepare as much as possible and then let it lie. Whatever happens will happen," she tells PEOPLE. "At least I know I prepared as much as I could, but I'm really taking a laid-back approach to all of this."

The former Miss Universe and San Francisco 49ers running back are yet to reveal their exact wedding date, but Culpo is already "excited" about "walking down the aisle" and seeing her husband-to-be "at the end," she tells PEOPLE.

While speaking of a possible honeymoon, Culpo says they'll probably push it back to "next year" due to the upcoming NFL season and McCaffrey's sports career.

Culpo and McCaffrey, who began dating in 2019 after being set up by friends, got engaged in April 2023 during a getaway to Utah. 

While speaking to PEOPLE earlier this month, she confirmed that "the countdown is on," adding: “It's happening.”

“It's just logistically complicated,” she added of wedding planning. “Figuring out what everyone's going to wear, figuring out, figuring out where everyone's going to stay, making sure that everybody's happy.”

“I feel like as a people pleaser, I want to make sure that everybody else is having the best time ever, but I know that everything will fall into place,” she continued. “I feel really good about it.”
