Olivia and Fitz Call it Quits
On Thursday’s episode of Scandal, Mellie spent so much time filibustering that people became concerned about her health. At the same time, Olivia sat in as First Lady, attending dinners and galas that left her unhappy. She realized she wasn’t fit for that role when someone asked her to get a recipe for White House cookies. Realizing she wasn’t able to be the powerful and strong woman she strives to be, she began straying from her responsibilities. She even helped Mellie continue her filibuster by convincing the vice president to sit in for her. After missing a dinner, Olivia returned to the White House residence where Fitz was waiting for her. They fought and realized that there may never be a right time for them to be together. Fitz and Olivia called of their relationship — this time for real. Olivia moved back into her apartment, along with a new couch to console her.
