Oliver Anthony is coming out of the woods. The viral songwriter who got his start in a field railing against big government and snack cakes bought with tax dollars has announced his first official tour, dubbed the Out of the Woods Tour (no, it’s not a Taylor Swift allusion). The “Rich Men North of Richmond” singer will begin in the U.K. in February before touching down in the U.S. for two nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

Other stops include the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida; the Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida; the Brandon Amphitheater in Brandon, Mississippi; and Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas. The trek hits a bunch of fairs and festivals, too, before currently wrapping up in Allegan, Michigan, at the Allegan County Fair.

Anthony announced the tour with a humorous video on Instagram, in which he shows up late for work, is asked to sign a box of Fudge Rounds, and then awakens from a dream in his camper.

“Rich Men North of Richmond” was an unexpected hit this summer, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and resonating with listeners across the country, including those on the right, who saw in Anthony a galvanizing figure. But Anthony pushed back. “The one thing that has bothered me is seeing people wrap politics up in this,” he said in an online video in August. “It’s aggravating seeing people on conservative news try to identify with me like I’m one of them. It’s aggravating seeing certain musicians and politicians act like we’re buddies and act like we’re fighting the same struggle here, like we’re trying to present the same message.”

After the tour announcement, Anthony wrote online that he was being “flooded with messages about where to find 2024 tickets” and directed fans to his website. “If you want a heads up as they become available, you can get a 24-hour window to buy tickets before they are released to the public via email or text.”
