It's Old Fiddlers Reunion Weekend

Apr. 18—The 93rd Annual Old Fiddlers Reunion is this weekend. In addition to the contest, there will be a car show, food trucks, vendors, kiddie carnival, two street dances, live music, and lots of fiddling!

In case of rain, the fiddle competition and music will move to The Texan.

THURSDAY, April 18

— Dance the night away to country tunes by Billie Jo Jones as the 93rd Annual Athens Old Fiddler's Reunion kicks off at The Texan! Smoky B Barbecue will be on site for dinner and cocktails with doors opening at 5 p.m. on Thursday. There will be a $20 cover charge in advance on Eventbrite or at the door. Tables and seats will be available but not assigned seating. Live music and dancing from 6-9 p.m. Get tickets here.

FRIDAY, April 19

— Starting at noon on Friday there will be live music on the bandstand on the Square. Come hungry, as food trucks and vendors will be set up around the square.

— Friday night, Jody Nix and The Texas Cowboys will take the stage for a street dance.

SATURDAY, April 20

— Fiddles on Wheels and the Athens Old Fiddlers Reunion are hosting the annual fiddle contest on Saturday and it's open to everyone. Whether you're an experienced fiddler or a beginner, you are welcome at Old Fiddlers. There will be $7,000 of prize money awarded to the winners.

— The Athens Old Fiddlers Reunion Car Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bacon Auto Ranch. There will be grilled hot dogs and hamburgers to enjoy. Entry fee is $20 plus a nonperishable food item or canned good. The entry fees will be split between helping support Fiddlers and the Henderson County Food Bank.

— St. Edwards Academy will host a fun time for your kids, we have a special kiddie carnival that will be located down on the square. With plenty of games, and fun activities. And of course, no carnival is complete without cotton candy, sno-cones, and popcorn.

— While walking around the festival, make sure to check out the Arts & Crafts booths. More than 20 vendors have signed up to be a part of Fiddlers this year.

— Adding to the uniqueness of this event, Express Employment Professionals will sponsor the famous Clydesdale's. These magnificent horses are a sight to behold. Make sure you don't miss this!

— A variety of food trucks will be serving delicious food throughout the event. From gourmet burgers to international cuisines, there's something to satisfy everyone's taste buds.

— Saturday night will see Jake Penrod and his Million Dollar Cowboys on the bandstand for a street dance.
