Old Chicago Pizza in Southgate closing Sunday; everything to be auctioned off

After this weekend, Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom in Southgate will be closing.

The Southgate location will remain open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Sunday, leaving metro Detroiters forced to go elsewhere for their fix of Chicago-style pizza.

Old Chicago declined to comment on the closing of the Southgate location, only saying that they're focused on their staff at the moment.

There are two more Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom locations in Michigan: one in Okemos outside of Lansing and another in Midland.

After the Southgate location closes its doors to customers one final time, everything from the booths and TVs to the pizza ovens and water heaters will be torn out for an online auction set to take place on March 7.
