Oktoberfest is here. Where to celebrate in Bucks County, nearby
Oktoberfest is coming to a Bucks County brewery or pub near you.
And even Six Flags Great Adventure is getting its drink on for the season.
The celebrations date back to 1810 in honor of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese and has since morphed into the world's largest folk festival.
Here are six places where you can celebrate Oktoberfest 2023 in and around Bucks County.

Oktoberfest at Second Sin
Second Sin Brewing Company and the "Eat This Jawn" food truck will team up for an Oktoberfest celebration on Friday.
Second Sin's Oktoberfest-themed brew earned third place in the Breweries of Pennsylvania's list of top Pennsylvania Oktoberfest beers.
The festivities begin at 2 p.m. at the Second Sin Brewing Company, 1502 Grundys Lane, Bristol.
Vault Smoke House and Brewing Company celebrates Oktoberfest
The Vault Smoke House, at 19 W. College Ave. in Yardley, will celebrate Oktoberfest by offering an array of authentic German food, music and drink.
Chef Will Porras will prepare the German-inspired spread, and the Philly German Brass Band will perform traditional German music, beginning at noon on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Adult tickets are $20, and tickets for children are $5. Tickets are available at the door or online.

Six Flags Great Adventure fill weekends with Oktoberfest celebrations
Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, NJ, will celebrate Oktoberfest by offering up a blend of potato pancakes, bratwurst and beer.
According to Six Flags, these celebrations will also feature folk singers, jugglers, a pretzel-eating contest and performance by a brass band on weekends through Sunday, Nov. 5.
The best part of Six Flags Great Adventure's Oktoberfest offerings is that it is free with general admission, so visitors won't have to pay an extra fee to enjoy the festivities.
Daily admission tickets start at $50.

Loosen the lederhosen at the Newportville Inn
The Newportville Inn, the German-themed eatery at 4120 Lower Road in Newportville, Bristol Township, is going all in with its Oktoberfest celebration.

Newportville Inn will begin its festivities on Wednesday, Sept. 20, with authentic German cuisine created from scratch.
Newportville Inn will then have its Oktoberfest kick-off party on Saturday, Sept. 23, followed by a traditional pig roast on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Then there's the test-your-strength stein holding contest set for Saturday, Oct. 7, which leads up to the Oktoberfest cook-out on Saturday, Oct. 14.
Newportville Inn's kitchen opens at 3 p.m., and the inn operates from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Live music, German cuisine on tap for Oktoberfest at Newtown Brewing
The Newtown Brewing Company at 103 Penns Trail in Newtown will also host a multi-day Oktoberfest celebration, starting Friday, Sept. 29.
United Crepes of America will prepare food starting at 4 p.m., and JDuo Music will provide the live entertainment beginning at 6 p.m.
And no Oktoberfest celebration would be complete without the requisite test your might events.
As such, Newtown Brewing will also have grain bag toss at 6 p.m., followed by a stein holding contest at 7 p.m.
Flying Dutchman at Aristaeus Oktoberfest '23

On Friday, Sept. 22, Aristaeus Brewing, at 2475 Big Oak Road in Middletown, will celebrate Oktoberfest by having a release party for three distinct brews.
The brewery will release Aristaeus Festbier (a pale German lager), Grosses Zelt Bräu (a Munich Dunkel), and a brand new Märzen.
Food will be provided by the Flying Deutschman German food truck. Oktoberfest at Aristaeus Brewing begins at 4 p.m.
