Oklahoma DB Will Sunderland suspended indefinitely
Oklahoma announced the suspension of a potential starter on Monday night.
Because of a charge for concealing stolen property, junior defensive back Will Sunderland has been suspended indefinitely by head coach Lincoln Riley. Per The Oklahoman, the charge was levied June 13 and a warrant for Sunderland’s arrest was issued June 15.

Sunderland is accused of selling two gaming systems that were stolen from an OU residence hall. He has not, however, been charged with stealing the devices, but knew they were stolen.
Sunderland sold an XBOX One, controllers and games along with a Playstation 4, controllers and games to CDR Electronics in Oklahoma City for $499.50, according to the affidavit. The property was stolen from the OU residence hall, which houses student athletes, on March 15 and was sold by Sunderland later that day, according to the affidavit. Sunderland is not charged with stealing the gaming systems.
Sunderland, a junior from Midwest City, signed the receipt at CDR Electronics stating that he had owned the gaming systems for four months, according to the report. According to the affidavit, Sunderland was interviewed by OUPD and admitted to knowing the property was stolen when he sold it to CDR.

Sunderland, 20, appeared in eight games in each of the last two seasons. Last year, Sunderland totaled 15 tackles and had a memorable interception, his first, in the win over rival Texas. He also totaled three tackles in 2015.
Local reports had Sunderland sliding into a safety role opposite Steven Parker in 2017. Now his standing with the team is up in the air.
