Oilers place defenseman Adam Larsson on LTIR

Edmonton Oilers defenceman Adam Larsson has been placed on LTIR, according to Jason Gregor of OilersNation.com.

The 26-year-old reportedly suffered a broken bone in his foot just above the ankle after blocking a shot during the Oilers’ season-opening win on Wednesday.

Larsson was slotted on the Oilers’ top pairing alongside Darnell Nurse.

The team recalled defenceman Evan Bouchard and re-assigned Ethan Bear to AHL’s Bakersfield as part of the roster shuffle.
