Officers Join Woman Experiencing Homelessness in Prayer After Traffic Stop

Police in Arlington, Texas, released footage on March 18 of a March 5 incident in which officers joined a woman experiencing homelessness in prayer after a traffic stop.

Police said the incident began as a traffic stop when an officer noticed a vehicle with an unreadable temporary tag. The driver told police she was in a “transitionary” period in her life and it became apparent she was living out of the vehicle.

The officer, named as Urlacher, asked if there was anything the officers present could do to help and the driver asked for prayer.

“We can hook you up with that,” Urlacher said. “We got you.”

Two other offices, named as Baker and Moon, also joined in the prayer, after which the officers gave the woman information about an upcoming event aimed at connecting citizens in need with resources such as housing and food, police said. Credit: Arlington Police via Storyful
