Josh Gordon and Will Speck must see Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston as a match made in comedy heaven, given that the directing team cast the co-stars of their previous big-screen release, 2010’s The Switch, in Office Christmas Party, their first one since. And while a trio of new clips (watch them below) may spoil some of the upcoming film’s choice surprises, they do give us a taste of what’s in store: a collection of very funny people behaving in incredibly moronic ways.

The three scenes help lay out the basic premise of the film: A company boss (Aniston) is set to close a local branch run by her brother (Silicon Valley’s T.J. Miller) and his CTO (Bateman). To prevent that from happening, Miller’s doofus arranges a giant Christmas party that, he believes, will allow him to successfully woo a coveted client for a big contract and, in turn, save the branch from termination — a scenario that apparently will lead to all sorts of insanity involving Kate McKinnon, Olivia Munn, Courtney B. Vance, Jillian Bell, Vanessa Bayer, and Rob Corddry, among others.

If nothing else, Office Christmas Party will finally give Miller a spotlight vehicle for his particular brand of arrogant-doofus ridiculousness. And with so many other hilarious players involved, there’s hope Gordon and Speck’s latest will bring some raucous R-rated cheer to multiplexes when it opens on Dec. 9.
