The Office: The 30 Best Characters of All Time, Ranked!

Alright, The Office fans, conference room, five minutes: We have some important things to discuss.

NBC’s quintessential workplace sitcom clocked out for the last time seven years ago, but our old friends from Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch are never that far from our minds. (Thanks, Netflix.) Across nine seasons, we grew to love a wide array of colorful characters — but which were truly the greatest characters of them all, hmmm? Yep, it’s time for a performance review.

We here at TVLine are looking over a stack of employee evaluations to determine The Office‘s best characters ever. Keep in mind: These aren’t the characters we like the most, necessarily, but the richest, most intriguing characters that kept us watching… and laughing. So grab a cup of lukewarm coffee and click on the gallery attached to the right — or click here for direct access — as we rank the top 30 Office characters of all time. (And many thanks to cubicle mates Rebecca Iannucci and Kimberly Roots for helping narrow down the field of candidates.)

Of course, not everyone could make the final cut, so our apologies to: David Wallace; Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration; the mostly forgettable Pete and Clark; Cathy the homewrecker; Brian the sound guy; and the unfortunate Deangelo Vickers era. Hit the comments below to let us know who we ranked too high, too low or should’ve left off altogether.
