The lineup of the second annual Oceans Calling festival was announced Tuesday, and it is a doozy. Beach music venues up and down the coast are also unveiling plans for events of their own as spring and summer get closer.

Oceans Calling headliners: Blink-182, the Killers, Dave Matthews Band

Oceans Calling will take place Friday through Sunday, Sept. 27-29, and ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29. Last year’s inaugural edition, which had been postponed from 2022 due to weather, drew an estimated 50,000 music fans to the Inlet per day — making it the biggest ticketed even in the town’s history.

This year’s lineup was announced live on the radio Tuesday morning on 98.1 WOCM, with one little catch — its website crashed after hitting its limit of 100,000 visitors. (Your intrepid columnist went with Plan B, listening to it in a parked car.)

Dozens of national acts will again play Oceans Calling. The headliners will be Blink-182 on Friday; The Killers on Saturday; and the Dave Matthews Band on Sunday. Note that Matthews’ entire band will be on hand; he was originally scheduled to play acoustic at the rained-out 2022 fest.
