Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Release Date Rumors: Is It Coming Out?

Obi-Wan Kenobi finished its first season back in June 2022 and since then fans have been curious about whether or not there will be a second season for the show and if they will see more of Ewan McGregor’s iconic Jedi Master.

Is there an Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 release date?

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 does not have a release date. This is because there are currently no plans for a second season.

At the 2023 Star Wars Celebration event, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 was not in active development. However, Kennedy did not rule out the possibility entirely as she claimed that it could eventually happen. At the event, she further stated that she liked Deborah Chow’s work on the first season and also noted that Ewan McGregor was eager to reprise his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

However, a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi is not yet in the cards for Lucasfilm. Given the way the first season ended, a second season could explore multiple storylines such as Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Force ghost training under the guidance of the Force ghost of his late Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Reva being on the run from the Galactic Empire and Darth Vader after she betrayed them at the end of the first season.

Obi-Wan Kenobi’s cast includes Ewan McGregor, Moses Ingram, Vivian Lyra Blair, Joel Edgerton, Simone Kessell, Jimmy Smits, Bonnie Piesse, Grant Feely, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Kumail Nanjiani, Benny Safdie, and Hayden Christensen, among other cast members.

Where is Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 coming out?

Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 isn’t confirmed to release on Disney Plus.

The official synopsis for Obi-Wan Kenobi reads:

“During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, embarks on a crucial mission to confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.”
