Oak Ridge Civic Music Association sets three April concerts with an array of dynamic pieces

This month, the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association presents an array of concerts that promise to enchant audiences of all ages.

Kicking things off April 7 is the finale chamber concert featuring the renowned Ariel Quartet.

With a repertoire that will ignite the senses, the quartet will present "Fireworks" at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge.

A pre-concert talk will commence at 2:30 p.m., offering attendees insight into the evening's musical journey. Tickets can be purchased online at https://orcma.vbotickets.com/events.

On April 21 at 3 p.m., the free Coffee Concert will feature Zofia Glashauser on violin and Emi Kagawa on piano. The duo will perform at First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge. Conversation and coffee will follow.

Wrapping up the month is the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra & Oak Ridge Chorus presenting "Transformation & Triumph," with the powerful "Seven Last Words of the Unarmed" by rising composer Joel Thompson and the poignant "Overture For the Dedication of a Nuclear Reactor" by Arthur Roberts.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. April 27 at The Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, 711 S. Northshore Drive, Knoxville,and at 3 p.m. April 28 at the Performing Arts Center at Oak Ridge High School. Tickets are available online at https://orcma.vbotickets.com/events.
