NYFW: Alice + Olivia's Spring 2018 collection is a masterpiece unlike any other

The Alice + Olivia Spring 2018 presentation was truly a masterpiece.

The contemporary brand unveiled its latest collection on Tuesday with many celebrities like Victoria Justice and Paris Hilton in attendance. Founder and creative director Stacey Bendet revealed that her inspiration for her Spring 2018 line is the iconic Chelsea Hotel.

In fact, she took quite a unique approach to designing her line with the help of some well-known artists.

"I had artists design what would be their rooms at Chelsea Hotel today. Each artist designed the set and I curated the clothes around that," the designer said in an exclusive interview with AOL Lifestyle.

Built in the 1880s, the 400-room hotel was known for its arty denizens, many of whom would trade their works for rent.

Bendet's vision was to create several "rooms," each with a different theme designed by a different artist. Artists like Tallulah and Scout Willis, daughters of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, lent their creative talents for the presentation.

Tallulah created her version of the hotel's dinette, with artistic elements that really allowed Bendet's clothes to stand out. The clean background and consistent palette was the perfect backdrop to show off bold, stunning pieces, like a head-to-toe lavender look featuring a slip dress, matching jacket and chunky belt.

Meanwhile, her sister designed the rock 'n' roll-themed Scout's Studio, with lace and chiffon coming together in an ethereal black and white printed maxi dress. A flirty party dress in the same feminine print is embellished with oversized lace appliqués.

Bendet's pieces are the perfect balance between romance and edge.

"I wanted this feeling of romance with the chiffon and lace," said Bendet. "But I wanted something that felt rock 'n' roll-y with touches like the lavender chokers."

Tying the collection together were pops of neon seen throughout the collection, which Bendet described as the true "vibe of the hotel."

There's no denying that the designer definitely put on a show with her Spring 2018 presentation. However, what stood out most was the versatility of her pieces:

"I think of different women when I design," she said. "I want any woman who walks into our store to feel like she's going to find something to uplift her, something to inspire her and something to feel great in."
