NXT Women’s Title Match Set For WWE NXT Battleground

A new NXT Women’s Champion will be crowned at WWE NXT Battleground.

The May 23 episode of WWE NXT featured a pair of semi-finals matches in the NXT Women’s Championship Tournament. To kick off the show, Lyra Valkyria defeated Cora Jade by pinfall to secure her spot in the finals. Jade attacked Valkyrie after the match, and Lyra’s status for NXT Battleground was left up in the air.

In the main event, Tiffany Stratton pulled out her Prettiest Moonsault Ever to pin former champion Roxanne Perez. As a result, Valkyria and Stratton will clash in a first-time singles match to crown a new champion this Sunday in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Stratton beat Gigi Dolin to advance to the semi-finals, while Valkyria defeated Kiana James.

Indi Hartwell previously relinquished the title due to an injury she sustained prior to her move to WWE RAW in the 2023 WWE Draft.

• Last Man Standing Match: Ilja Dragunov vs. Dijak
