“You’re the new official sixth member,” Justin Timberlake said of host Sean Evans

*NSYNC is heating things up!

On Thursday, the '90s boy band, who recently reunited at the MTV VMAs, will appear together again on Hot Ones with Sean Evans. PEOPLE has an exclusive sneak peek of the group — comprised of Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone — as they take on spicy wings.

In the clip above, Evans starts by introducing the members to the show on the First We Feast YouTube channel. While everyone chimes in at the same time, saying, “Thanks for having us,” Timberlake makes a quick joke. “Whatever,” he feigns nonchalantly.

As *NSYNC “take on the wings of death,” Evans grills them about how they formed their band. “How would you break down the vocal ranges and sonic mechanics that go into making a great boy band?” he asks.

Chris Kirkpatrick gives an equal-parts honest and hilarious answer: “We knew we sucked at singing certain things, so it was like we just fell into our spots. I knew I’d be the high stuff, these guys would do the leads, Joey would be in the middle and Lance would be on the base.”

Evans then brings up a touchy point for the old friends and veteran boy band singers. “Though cut from the final edit, is it true that *NSYNC was cast as Jedi Warriors in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones?” The camera cuts to Timberlake and Bass, who squirm awkwardly. “Now we’re getting to the nitty-gritty questions,” Timberlake says.

Kirkpatrick and Chasez simultaneously respond, “heck yeah,” while Timberlake says, “Me and Lance were so butt hurt, so when you guys got cut out we were like,” he says of the inside joke while giving a satisfied laugh and smile.

As the group continue to work their way up the Scoville level of hot wings, it’s clear they’ve bonded with Evans. “You’re the new official sixth member,” Timberlake says before joking, “But we’re not going to split anything with you.”

The vocal legends have been making joint public appearances in all kinds of way lately. After sparking reconciliation rumors back in August 2023, *NSYNC announced their new track for the Trolls Band Together soundtrack.

While this isn’t the first time the group has reunited — having previously joined forces for their Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2018 and Justin Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award performance in 2013 — the new song, titled “Better Place,” will mark their first in over two decades.

The full song will be released on Sept. 29, but fans can also hear portions of the song on TikTok.

*NSYNC’s appearance on Hot Ones drops Thursday at 11 a.m. ET. on YouTube.
