The wait is over.

You can now own Newport landmarks or maybe make a trade for a Thames Street business. Just try to avoid jail along the way.

After announcing in June 2023 that a MONOPOLY: Newport Edition was being made you can now find it on store shelves.

Local officials and business leaders, along with Mr. Monopoly, unveiled the local version of the popular board game at the Audrain Auto Museum. The game is the only licensed version in the state, introduced by Top Trumps USA, the American division of Winning Moves International, creators of classic games and puzzles, and under license by Hasbro, a toy and game company.

“We appreciate all those who suggested landmarks, organizations, and businesses that make Newport unique and truly special. And we are pleased so many of them raced in to win the opportunity for a place on the board,” said John Marano, a Top Trumps USA representative, in a statement.

MONOPOLY: Newport Edition will be available in stores and online at retail partners, including CVS, Amazon, Barnes & Noble
