The last American man standing at the 2023 U.S. Open is into the semifinals but he faces a tough task ahead of him, against one of the greatest tennis players of all time. The unranked Ben Shelton takes on Novak Djokovic today in a men’s semifinal match from Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Shelton’s Cinderella run saw the 20-year-old take down former U.S. Open champ Dominic Thiem in the second round before outlasting compatriots Tommy Paul and Francis Tiafoe to get to his first Grand Slam semifinal appearance. Djokovic, of course, is no stranger to this stage, having won the U.S. Open three times as part of his all-time record 23 Grand Slam men’s singles titles.
