SOUTH BEND — The University of Notre Dame Press holds its annual Notre Dame Press Book Festival on Nov. 14 and 15 at the Hesburgh Library.

Coinciding with the national celebration of University Press Week, the annual book festival includes the Dirty Book Sale and three book-themed educational events, all of which are open to the public.

The Dirty Book Sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 14 and 15 in the Hesburgh Library Concourse.

At the sale, the public can purchase overstocked, dusty or slightly damaged books at significant discounts. Some autographed copies are available while supplies last.

Only debit and credit cards will be accepted.

Educational events include the following:

• Poesía en diálogo: Latinx Poetry with Victoria María Castells, Darrel Alejandro Holnes, Sheryl Luna, and Vickie Vértiz from 5 to 6 p.m. Nov. 14: This virtual event features four Latinx poets — all Notre Dame Press authors — reading and discussing their work. Francisco Aragon, director of Letras Latinas, will moderate. Attend the watch party in the Hesburgh Library Scholars Lounge or watch virtually by registering at undpress.nd.edu/book-festival.

• How to Judge a Book by Its Cover: Covers, Layout, and Design with Notre Dame Press staff from 2 to 3 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Hesburgh Library Scholars Lounge: Co-presented by Notre Dame Press staff Wendy McMillen and Michelle Sybert, this in-person event showcases industry best practices and includes tips for students, professional designers and marketers, authors, and anyone interested in publishing.

• Love Thee Notre Dame: The History of Our University with the Rev. Thomas Blantz and the Rev. Edward A. Malloy from 5 to 6 p.m. Nov. 15 in the Hesburgh Library Scholars Lounge: For this in-person event, Notre Dame Press authors Blantz and Malloy discuss their combined 130-plus years at Notre Dame. American studies and history professor Kathleen Sprows Cummings will moderate.
