Halloween doesn’t have to be scary! It can be delightfully frightful and funny. Here’s a Halloween watchlist for those of us who don’t like to go to bed with the promise of a nightmare looming.

This list includes a few TV show suggestions that could get you in the spooky season spirit and which episodes of popular sitcoms are Halloween-themed.

Is ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ on Netflix or Amazon Prime?

“What We Do in the Shadows” is a sitcom with a more unusual setting than the coffee shop of “Friends,” the bar in “How I Met Your Mother” or the diner in “Seinfeld.” The show is mostly set in the home of three vampires.

This macabre mockumentary first released in 2019 and has run for five seasons, the most recent of which released weekly from July 13 through August 31 this year. The show is already confirmed for a sixth season.

“What We Do in the Shadows” follows the nightly life of three vampires – Nandor, Nadja and Laszlo – in Staten Island who have been (un)living together for hundreds of years.

The show has some bloody and violent content but isn’t scary, just hilarious.

It’s only available to stream for free on Hulu and is available to buy or rent on Amazon Prime and Vudu.

Which streaming service has ‘Scream Queens?’

Imagine Emma Roberts playing a sorority mean girl that could make Regina George cry, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas, Jamie Lee Curtis and Keke Palmer all dodging a masked murderer loose on a college campus, and you’re probably thinking of “Scream Queens.”

The show was created by Ryan Murphy, who has brought us much scarier titles like “American Horror Story,” “Dahmer,” “The Watcher” and “Ratched,” and was released in 2015. It has two seasons.

Murphy, who also created “Glee,” brought a lot of the humor that Gleeks love over to the wildly different setting of “Scream Queens.” It almost feels unnatural to laugh so many times at such a gruesome plot. If you don’t like blood or guts, you might want to choose something else on this list or look away from the screen when you see the show’s masked murderer, “the red devil.”

If you’re looking for extra Halloween vibes, the first Halloween episode of the show is the first season’s third episode.

The show is available to stream now on Hulu.

Where can I watch all seasons of ‘Bewitched’ free?

When Samantha and ad exec Darrin fall in love and get married in the first episode of “Bewitched,” Darrin has no clue his bride can access magic powers with just a wiggle of her nose.

The conflict in the show stems from Samantha’s mother Endora, pulling her back to her magic world, while Darrin tries to keep his wife grounded in reality. The battle between magic and mortal often leads to funny misunderstandings and mishaps.

There’s absolutely nothing scary about “Bewitched.” There’s no blood, guts or gore, it’s just a 1960s sitcom.

This funny, witchy sitcom first aired in 1964 and ran for eight seasons. It’s available to stream for free with ads on Tubi, FreeVee and the Roku Channel.

What streaming service has ‘Riverdale?’

“Riverdale” first aired in 2017 and carried on for seven seasons and is based on the “Archie” comics. The show was at its best in the first season alone, when the main plot of the show follows small town high school “it girl” Cheryl Blossom as she attempts to uncover who killed her twin brother.

In the second season, the plot follows the mystery of another murder, but by season three, the plot becomes much darker and largely revolves around an imaginary illicit drug called “jingle jangle.” This is where the show lost a chunk of its original, season one fans and started becoming more of a joke to TV watchers on online forums like TikTok.

But don’t let any of that discourage you, seasons one and two of “Riverdale” are a really fun watch for the Halloween season.

“Riverdale” is available to stream right now on Netflix.
