‘This Is Not Happening’ Renewed For Fourth Season At Comedy Central

Ahead of tonight’s Season 3 premiere, Comedy Central has ordered a fourth season of its storytelling stand-up series This Is Not Happening for premiere in 2017.

The show features Ari Shaffir, who also executive produces, and his comedian friends telling stories in front of a live audience at Cheetahs in Hollywood. Each episode features a custom open in which Shaffir meets a different gruesome death time and time again. Comedians appearing with Shaffir on the upcoming third season include Gastor Almonte, Louie Anderson, Maria Bamford, Greg Behrendt, Lavell Crawford, Joey Diaz, Greg Fitzsimmons, Sean Flannery, Al Jackson, Bert Kreischer, Bobby Lee, Julian McCullough, Bonnie McFarlane, Big Jay Oakerson, Tom Papa, Russell Peters, Steve Rannazzisi, Brian Regan, Rory Scovel, Ali Siddiq, Steve Simeone, Doug Stanhope, Nick Thune, Liza Treyger, Sal Vulcano and Andrew W.K.

Avalon’s Sam Saifer, Jeff Tomsic, and Eric Abrams executive produce. Tomsic also directs and Abrams serves as showrunner.

“’This Is Not Happening’ is a great platform for comedians to tell true, personal stories of humiliation, degradation and supreme embarrassment,” said Kent Alterman, President, Comedy Central. “Or put another way…of being human.”
