Not A Drill! Hallmark Announces ‘Three Wise Men And A Baby’ Sequel Is Coming Soon

Christmas has come early, y’all.

This is not a drill! Hallmark has finally given us all the news we have been waiting for since 2022. Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell, and Tyler Hynes will reprise their roles as three brothers, the Brenner boys, in the sequel to the most watched original movie of 2022, Three Wise Men and a Baby. The next installment, Three Wiser Men and a Boy, will also see the return of Margaret Colin as the boys’ mother Barbara. Colin's casting is, of course, a nod to the movie’s inspiration, Three Men and a Baby, where she played Rebecca alongside Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg, Tom Selleck.

The sequel takes us on a time jump. We rejoin the Brenner family just ahead of Christmas, five years later. In a release, Hallmark described the plot as follows:

“ In a crazy turn of events, possibly brought on accidently by the brothers themselves, the director of Luke’s (Walker) son Thomas’ (Miles Marthaller, Round and Round) school holiday musical steps down.  Luke is desperate to make his son’s stage dreams come true, so he enlists the help of his brothers Taylor (Hynes) and Stephan (Campbell).  Meanwhile, the trio navigates meeting their mom Barbara’s new boyfriend and the brothers grapple with their own feelings about this relationship.  In true Brenner brother fashion, they are all in for a Christmas they will never forget.”

“Viewers and critics alike fell for the charms of Paul, Tyler and Andrew as the Brenner brothers in Three Wise Men and a Baby. The one resounding thing we heard from them was that they wanted more. We are excited to deliver and then some with a story that is filled with more humor and, most importantly, more heart,” Jennifer Kramer, Vice President Development of Hallmark Media said.

It’s true, fans went wild for this first of its kind Hallmark movie that gave them not one, not two, but three Hallmark Hunks in one flick. The dance the brothers perform in the movie became a cult hit, and fans posted their own renditions with friends on social media. Giving the people what they wanted, Campbell, Hynes, and Walker have appeared in full elf costumes at just about every fan convention they have attended since, often performing their holiday-themed dance.

Eagle-eyed fans began to get excited as they spotted vague, but seemingly coordinated posts from the three leading men on social media. Could it be that the sequel they’ve asked for is coming this year? Or were the actors teaming up for something else? It had to mean something!

Well, turns out they were right! We do not yet have an airdate but Three Wiser Men and a Boy is currently in production and expected to premiere during this year’s Countdown to Christmas on Hallmark Channel.

Andrew Walker spoke to Southern Living the morning of the announcement and said, "Christmas came early. I never thought shooting a movie could make me feel this good inside. I'm in awe of my co-stars and I feel so blessed to be back at it with them. In my humble opinion, this sequel may be even better than the first. But we'll let you decide."

But, to hold us all over and to celebrate this big news, Hallmark Channel will gift viewers a “Three Wise Men” themed mini-marathon this Friday, April 26, beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT, featuring It’s Christmas, Eve (starring Hynes and LeAnn Rimes); Christmas by Starlight (written by and starring Campbell and Kimberley Sustad) and Three Wise Men and a Baby as part of the network’s festive Fa La La Fridays.
