Have a nosh! Mickve Israel hosts Shalom, Y'all Jewish Food Festival on Sunday

Despite Savannah's historical Jewish community, the town is limited when it comes to authentic kosher delicacies ― except for one Sunday every autumn when Congregation Mickve Israel hosts the Shalom, Y'all Jewish Food Festival.

Come get a hearty dose of chicken soup with matzo balls, a slab of kugel, a few latkes, corned beef on rye or a slice of honey cake like your bubbe used to make. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. in Monterey Square on Bull Street between Gordon and Taylor streets. Ricard Ochoa and the Euro Gypzy Jazz Band will provide the music for your dancing, and the kid zone will keep the young'uns occupies while you schmooze.

Food tickets are on sale at mickveisrael.org/food-festival/ and must be purchased ahead of time. You can pick up your tickets between now and Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or at Will Call on Sunday.
