Northridge Theater to perform 'Footloose'

Celebrating its 40th anniversary of the film release, this popular musical features the small town of Bomont, Texas, where dancing has been outlawed as a result of a fatal car accident — until Ren McCormick moves in from Chicago. In addition to adjusting to the drastic lifestyle change, Ren also finds himself in conflict with the school bully, the town pastor, his aunt and uncle, and the law. Only Ariel, the minister's daughter, seems to understand his frustration and loneliness. With Ariel's help, Ren takes on the town council and turns this small conservative town upside down. Come join the upbeat music and the story of a teen's persistence to turn a bad situation into something good.
Performances are Saturday, May 4, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. in the Northridge Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $12 online and $15 at the door. They can be purchased at northridgetp.ludus.com. (No Gold Cards can be accepted.)
