Northeastern Winds Blow Across Volcanic Eruption in Iceland

An Iceland resident faced strong winds to witness lava flowing from the Fagradalsfjall volcano on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula on Sunday, March 28.

This video from Jónas Unnarsson shows the eruption in Geldingadalur Valley, which by Sunday had been ongoing for eight days.

On Tuesday, a northeasterly wind was forecast to blow pollution that could potentially accumulate near the eruption, according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office. Credit: Jónas Unnarsson via Storyful
