Happy birthday wishes are in order! In honor of his lady circling the sun another year, Norman Reedus shared a rare photo of his daughter with Diane Kruger to celebrate Kruger turning 43 on Monday. That wasn’t the only glimpse into the couple’s personal life The Walking Dead star shared; Reedus also threw in a few romantic photos of the pair in the birthday post. Still, the baby pic was probably the most exciting for fans — since their little girl was born in November 2018, Reedus and Kruger have been very intentional about how they share her with the world.

But on Monday, Reedus loosened up a little, revealing a cute photo of the couple’s daughter tugging on Kruger’s hair. The little girl’s face isn’t fully visible, but you can just make out her sweet little chubby cheeks. (Don’t even get us started on the pure preciousness of her little wrist creases.) Reedus also included a photo of him and Kruger all dressed up for dinner at a nameless restaurant, as well as a more casual shot of them cuddling on the beach at sunset. “Happy birthday angel,” Reedus captioned the Instagram tribute.

In the comments, Kruger responded, “I love you and little Etiquette the most.”

Of course, this sparked a robust discussion among fans over the meaning of what would seem to be the little girl’s nickname. Suggested one such fan, “In English, ‘etiquette’ means polite/good/appropriate behavior/manners. Something that is sadly lacking in both the social media & paparazzi worlds. In French it means label/tag. Either way, I think Diane is indicating their ongoing decision to keep bub’s details secret for as long as they possibly can.” Kruger herself confirmed that it was not their daughter’s actual name.

The fan might have a point, since the protective mom took a strong stance on non-consensual photos of her baby earlier this year. “Dear fans, dear non fans, dear paparazzi and anyone with a conscience. We were just tagged in these paparazzi pictures of me and our daughter. These pictures were taken without our consent and expose a vulnerable and innocent baby,” Kruger wrote in January, adding, “While we understand that some people would like to see a picture of our daughter, we as parents, want nothing more than allow her to grow up in privacy and safety. Me and @bigbaldhead would kindly ask you not to repost these pictures and help us achieve the goal.”

It merits mentioning that — for as deeply private as she and Reedus are — Kruger has shared some seriously sweet snapshots of the couple’s daughter on her Instagram, including one for Father’s Day in June.
