Noname Launches Book Club

It begins with Pedagogy of the Oppressed and Samantha Irby’s We Are Never Meeting in Real Life

Noname has officially launched a project she’s been teasing on social media for a while—Noname’s Book Club. The Chicago rapper announced the book club earlier this month, saying it would “highlight progressive work from writers of Color and writers within the LGBTQ community.” The first two titles in the book club are Pedagogy of the Oppressed (by the late Brazilian educator and philosopher Paulo Freire) and Samantha Irby’s essay collection We Are Never Meeting in Real Life.

Last year, Noname released her album Room 25. Earlier this year she shared the new tracks “Song 31” and “Song 32.”
