Noah Hawley's Star Trek movie will feature brand new crew
Fargo boss Noah Hawley has revealed that his Star Trek movie reboot would bring in a completely fresh set of characters.
The project itself received an update just last month, in that it currently sits in limbo at Paramount Pictures. But this hasn't stopped Hawley from sharing more about his plans for the film in a new interview with Variety.

"We're not doing Kirk and we're not doing Picard," he confirmed. "It's a start from scratch that then allows us to do what we did with Fargo, where for the first three hours you go, 'Oh, it really has nothing to do with the movie,' and then you find the money.
"So you reward the audience with a thing that they love."
For those who've seen season one of Fargo – spoilers incoming for those who haven't – Hawley's reference harks back to the scene where Oliver Platt's character Stavros Milos discovers the same money that Steve Buscemi's Carl Showalter buried in the snow during the Coens' classic movie.

Elsewhere in their chat, Hawley took some time to reflect on his big-screen directorial debut Lucy in the Sky, which tanked with critics and cinemagoers last year.
"I set out to make a magical-realism astronaut movie," he noted. "Not a lot of high demand for that. But that's what the story wanted to be.
"I'm not sure, at the end of the day, that the understanding that the studio had was that I was making a magical-realism astronaut movie – even though I wrote a script for a magical-realism astronaut movie, and I showed them all the visuals."
