Noah Hawley’s 26 Keys Inks 20th Century Fox Film Deal

Noah Hawley’s 26 Keys Productions has signed an overall deal at 20th Century Fox. The film pact for the shingle run by Fargo creator Hawley and partner John Cameron comes on the heels of last week’s news that Hawley had signed on to make his feature directorial debut on Man Alive, an elevated sci-fi spec script by new writer Joe Greenberg.

As part of the deal unveiled today, Leigh Kittay, formerly a VP at Parkes+MacDonald Productions, has been named Head of Film at 26 Keys. She is part of the producing team on Man Alive along with Cameron and BenderSpink.

Hawley already has an overall deal at FX Productions, where his Fargo is starting Season 3 on FX.

At Parkes+MacDonald, Kittay acquired and developed film projects including the upcoming Keeping Up With The Joneses directed by Greg Mottola and starring Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis at Fox 2000 and the docu He Named Me Malala at Fox Searchlight. Before that she was at Bad Robot and Paramount.

“There’s a phrase you hear a lot in the movie business: ‘execution dependent.’ It refers to a property or an idea that is more nuanced than high concept, more layered in tone and character than the obvious commercial film. In order to get made, these films have to be great from script to score. This is our mission, to find and develop unique films with visionary writers and directors,” said Hawley in the announcement. “To this end, we are thrilled to be working with [Fox’s] Jim [Jim Gianopulos], Stacey [Snider], Emma [Watts] and everyone else at Fox who’ve proven time and time again that the best recipe for success is to make a better film.”
