The fear and superstition that is associated with the number 13 is nothing new and fairly common in all walks of life. But not everyone has an aversion to the "unlucky" number.

The hospitality industry, in particular, has held on to this superstition, and while many of Nashville's newest hotels boast a lot of things from rooftop bars to stunning views, they are mostly lacking one thing: a 13th floor. That superstition hasn't held with some in the music industry though. Taylor Swift is fearless when it comes to the number 13. The iconic singer and songwriter has long held the belief that 13 is in fact her lucky number.

The number has, indeed, followed the singer most of her life, and Swift has mentioned the significance of 13 in her life in interviews dating as far back as 2009.

Take a look at how the supposedly "unlucky" number has boosted the pop star.

'Back in December' when Taylor Swift was born

Swift's connection to the number 13 started off the day she was born.

On Dec. 13, 1989, Swift was welcomed into this world in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. And no, it wasn't a Friday but a Wednesday.

In 2002, Swift did celebrate her 13th birthday on Friday the 13th. She will celebrate her 35th birthday in 2024 on Friday the 13th, as well as her 52nd (which is also divisible by 13) in 2041.

There's 'No Bad Blood' between Taylor Swift and the number 13

Swift's first album went gold in 13 weeks and her first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. During an interview with MTV, Swift said, "Every time I've won an award, I've been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter."

The star has been spotted sporting the number written with eyeliner on her hands during previous tours, but she has let that drop over the years.

Thirteen has also appeared in Swift's social media. Her Twitter handle is @taylorswift13.

'...Ready for it?': Taylor Swift's love for the number 13 makes its way into her music

Swift may not sport the number 13 on her hands anymore, but she does incorporate the number wherever she can.

In Swift's 2017 album, "Reputation", and in her other albums, she pulled out all the stops when it came to hiding little Easter Eggs in it pertaining to the number 13, according to Billboard. When the album was leaked, many quickly noticed that the 13th track of the album, "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" (we see what you did there Taylor), was missing from the leaked version.

Her first No. 1 hit “Our Song”, has a 13-second intro to it and since then she has used it several times in intros to songs including "Call it What You Want".

She has also hidden 13 into her music video over the years, including the already referenced packed “…Ready For It?”.

Even Swift's latest Eras Tour has 52 stops and, as stated above, the number is divisible by 13. Coincidence?
