No, Hennessy Does Not Want You Using Its Cognac For Pedicures

A viral video has sparked a reaction from Hennessy after the cognac was used for beauty services.

A clip featured on the Instagram account of Buckhead Signature Nails in Atlanta detailed the salon’s 24k gold pedicure experience. The process includes spirits to drink and a healthy amount of cognac poured into the pedicure water.

The experience also includes gold Cannabidiol (CBD) leaf-like patches applied to the calf area, back massages, and a mobile bear serving clients alcoholic drinks and snacks. After being uploaded to X, the luxury pedicure experience caught the attention of the French cognac house.

“So we doing Hennessy pedicures now?” questioned one X user on Tuesday (March 5), with the brand responding the next day by saying, “We hope not!?”

Hennessy followed the exclamation with a clip from Tyler Perry’s 2010 film Why Did I Get Married Too? where Janet Jackson’s character repeatedly demands her friends to “please fix it” through tears.

This is not the first trending topic to shock the brand. Last month, one X user shared a menu advertised as the food selection for a dinner called the “3 Kings Experience.” From the cocktails to the desserts, each item of the six offerings listed included Hennessy in the ingredients list.

The viral menu, highlighted by fried chicken on a stick with Hennessy glaze and white chocolate Hennessy bread pudding featured one side dish the company had to call into question.

“We’d personally like to see what a melted brussel sprout looks like,” shared Hennessy on the platform, after the unique take on the green vegetable was listed beside creamed spinach stuffed salmon with roasted garlic Hennessy cream.

While Hennessy can be a fun, creative addition to any menu, its use in a pedicure may offer more aesthetic flair than benefits.

According to the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), the best nail technicians and those practicing an at-home beauty routine can maintain the proper moisture balance of the skin on feet by applying emollient-enriched moisturizers, not by adding a shot of liquor to the pedicure bowl.

Either way, the Atlanta nail shop has found a target audience for its distinctive practice. Would you book the 24k gold pedicure? Watch the viral clip of the process below.
