Francesco Akira will miss the rest of the Best of the Super Juniors 31 tournament due to injury.

NJPW announced the news on May 21 after Akira was previously deemed unable to compete at the May 21 event. In the announcement, NJPW stated that Akira underwent an evaluation for his left knee injury, and it was decided that he would not compete for the rest of the tournament. His opponents in his upcoming league matches will receive points via forfeit.

Akira is a three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. As of this writing, there is no word on how long he will be out of action.

WrestleZone will monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.
