These NJ pizzerias are headed to all-you-can-eat One Bite Pizza Festival next month

Dave Portnoy, a big name in the world of pizza, has eaten his fair share of New Jersey pies.

The founder of the "One Bite Pizza Reviews" YouTube series, which features Portnoy rating pizza on a scale of 1 to 10, has visited more than 100 restaurants and pizzerias across the state. Next month, 10 of these will represent the Garden State in his inaugural One Bite Pizza Festival, taking place from 12:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Maimonides Park, 1904 Surf Ave., in Brooklyn.

The event is billed as a food and music festival featuring all-you-can-eat pizza.

Pizza will be cooked on site, and each restaurant will have its own ovens, said Peter Grippo of Brooklyn Square Pizza in Monmouth and Ocean counties. His is among the three dozen restaurants taking part in the festival, including these from New Jersey:

  • Angeloni’s Restaurant & Pizzeria in Caldwell

  • Artichoke Basille's Pizza in Hoboken, Jersey City and New Brunswick. Sister restaurant Sally Boy's is in Red Bank.
