Nine Perfect Strangers: Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski Join Season 2 Cast

A pair of Emmy winners have made a reservation for Season 2 of Nine Perfect Strangers.

Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek) and Christine Baranski (The Good Fight) have joined the cast of the Hulu spa dramedy’s sophomore season, TVLine has confirmed. (Our sister site Variety first reported the news.) No character details have been released yet, but we do have character names, at least: Murphy will play Imogen, while Baranski will play Victoria.

Along with Murphy and Baranski, the Season 2 cast includes Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus) as Brian, Maisie Richardson-Sellers (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) as Wolfie, Dolly De Leon (Triangle of Sadness) as Agnes, Lucas Englander (Transatlantic) as Martin, Aras Aydin (Cherry Season) as Matteo and musician King Princess making her acting debut as Tina. (Hulu has now confirmed these castings, which were previously reported.) Nicole Kidman will also reprise her role as spa owner Masha.

Based on the novel by Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty, Nine Perfect Strangers debuted in 2021 with an eight-episode freshman season and was expected to be a limited series, but it earned a surprising Season 2 renewal this June. It takes place at a wellness resort run by Kidman’s character Masha; Season 2 will reportedly be set in the Swiss Alps.

Murphy starred as spoiled daughter Alexis Rose on Schitt’s Creek, a role that won her the Emmy for best supporting actress in a comedy in 2020. She recently starred in AMC’s Kevin Can F**k Himself and the “Joan Is Awful” episode of Black Mirror. Baranski currently co-stars on HBO’s The Gilded Age and wrapped up a six-season run as Diane Lockhart on The Good Fight last year. Her previous TV credits include The Good Wife, The Big Bang Theory and Cybill.
