Nine Inch Nails Remix Todd Rundgren’s “Deaf Ears”

The original song featured Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

By Noah Yoo.

Nine Inch Nails have shared their remix of Todd Rundgren’s new song “Deaf Ears.” The original track featured Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and is off Rundgren’s forthcoming album White Knight. In a note posted to Facebook, Reznor said, “Todd Rundgren is a hero of mine. His records (solo and Utopia!), his songwriting, his production and his musicianship… all played a huge role shaping me into who I am.”

Reznor continued, “Atticus and I sent Todd a wealth of ideas for his new record. He worked on this track and released the ‘proper’ version here... We then took what he did and and moved it forward (or backward, depending on your perspective) into this.” He signed the note, “TR (not Todd Rundgren, the other TR).” Listen to the new remix below. Rundgren previously remixed NIN’s “All Time Low” for the deluxe edition of Hesitation Marks.
