Nikki Glaser and her boyfriend, Chris Convy, have been dating on and off for a decade.

The comedian met Convy, a producer, when they worked together on her MTV show Nikki & Sara Live in 2013. Since then, they have been together for years at a time, though they've also split upwards of five times, as Glaser shared on The Howard Stern Show in May 2024.

“I think the off and on is because committing to anything forever, I think that forever makes me think of no other adventures,” she said. “It’s kind of admitting defeat, it’s settled.”

However, she said the two have worked on their issues and have been going strong. When asked by host Howard Stern if she was in love, Glaser enthusiastically replied, "Oh yeah."

So who is Nikki Glaser’s boyfriend? Here’s everything to know about Chris Convy and his relationship with the comedian.

Convy has been producing shows and TV specials since the early aughts. He started his career in 2007 with the MTV Video Music Awards and has since worked on a number of projects, including award shows like Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

In recent years, his focus has been on TV specials such as 2019’s The Little Mermaid Live! and 2023’s Adam Sandler: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

They met after working together

Convy’s career led to him meeting Glaser, whom he first encountered when he produced her MTV talk series Nikki & Sara Live.

“We met in New York, I had a show on MTV, it was my first TV show,” she said in an interview with Graham Bensinger in October 2022. “He was a producer on the show and he was from St. Louis, where I was from.”

She added that she had quit drinking for a year by the time she’d met him, and she didn’t want to have relationships with heavy drinkers. Glaser said when they first met, he was so confident and funny that she assumed he was a drinker because she couldn’t believe anyone would behave that way sober – until she found out that he didn’t drink.

From there, she said she “fell in love from afar.”

“I just had a crush from afar which was so fun because I was just pining for him constantly,” she said. “It was very Jim and Pam [from The Office], I was Jim, and he had no idea.”

Convy went on to work with Glaser again when he produced her 2016 comedy series Not Safe with Nikki Glaser, which was canceled after one season, leading to one of her and Convy’s first breakups.

"I always said when we got the show that it was going to be canceled one day,” she told Buffalo News in November 2016. “Everyone used to say, 'You're so negative,' but I'm not pretending that I just made it.”

She continued, “It might be pessimistic or not a great way to look at things always, but I was prepared to lose it at some point, just like I was prepared to lose my boyfriend. Most relationships don't last, and most TV shows don't last. It softens the brunt when those things blow up."

She encouraged him to see other people

Glaser admitted in 2022 that she was ready to be monogamous, though she has advocated for polyamory in the past. She told Bensinger that she even encouraged Convy to explore other relationships while they’ve been together.

“I’m a weirdo, and I like my boyfriend to at least entertain the idea of being with other women or be with them,” she said. “I think it’s about, like, I want to be on HBO Max because I like HBO Max, and it’s a cool platform. I want my show to be on a place that is a cool, shiny…I want things that other people want.”

The comedian added that she would be okay with Convy sleeping with another woman, but not if he wanted to be with her romantically.

“I wouldn’t mind if [he] had a little fling with someone else, not like emotional,” she explained. “Even if she’s hotter than me or looks different than me, I don’t really care what she looks like.”

She was ready to get serious with him while they both lived in St. Louis

During the COVID-19 pandemic, both Glaser and Convy moved back to their homes in St. Louis and their relationship got more serious as they filmed Glaser’s reality show, Welcome Home Nikki Glaser.

In the season finale of the show, Glaser admitted she wanted to take their relationship to the next level.

“I want so badly to be able to say, 'Let's just f—--- do it and get married,’ ” she said in the episode. “We've been doing this off and on for eight years. Like, what are we doing?"

Glaser added that if Convy couldn’t provide her with the stability she needed, then she would move back to L.A., which was better for her career.

"If he can't do that, I’m not gonna stay in St. Louis,” she said. “I don't want to have to see his charming, gorgeous face pop up on my Bumble as a 'top pick' for me. Like, you're right, Bumble, he was. But he didn't want what I wanted!"

Though Convy didn’t pop the question, he did get down on one knee shortly after, asking Glaser if she would be his emergency contact — which seemingly assuaged her concerns.

“Hey, you gotta start somewhere!" she said. "It might not look like it, but this moment is huge for us."

They have broken up in the past because she would air their problems on her podcast

Glaser explained on The Howard Stern Show in May 2024 that one of the reasons they broke up in the past is that instead of coming to Convy directly with her complaints about their relationship or a situation, she would share them on her podcast.

“Not because I thought he won’t hear them, but they would just came out naturally under the guise of ‘it’s comedy!’” she explained. “He eventually heard them and go I don’t recognize who this person is.”

Glaser said when he would confront her, she didn’t even remember saying the things she said and realized she should have told him her issues in person.

“He had every reason to break up with me because it was jarring to him because I was just lying all the time,” she said. “He really got me to stop lying, I’m better at it I’m not perfect at it because I still fear abandonment, so there’s some issues in our relationship where I fear he’s going to be mad at me.”
