Whether or not you’ve tuned into Tom Brady‘s Netflix roast, you’ve probably at least seen a few snippets of the jokes on social media. After all, some punchlines were too funny not to go viral.

And while all of that may be true, Brady himself recently reacted to the roast, hinting that the jokes packed more of a punch than he was expecting. “I didn’t like the way they affected my kids,” the former football star recently said on The Pivot Podcast. “It’s the hardest part about —like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”

Following his comments, one of the night’s most celebrated comedians, Nikki Glaser, shared her two cents on Today With Hoda & Jenna.

During her appearance, while Glaser admitted Brady “maybe didn’t consider the backlash from his family and how it would affect them,” she also doubted he didn’t think about it at all, per Us Weekly. “But I also think Tom Brady does not do anything without doing his research and knowing exactly what he’s getting into,” she said.

“It’s impossible to me that he didn’t consider what could have happened because there’s roast footage out there that you can watch and go, ‘They’re gonna go this hard,'” she continued.

“But then, there’s a part of me that thinks that Tom Brady, especially given his career and how much people love him, no one’s ever said a bad thing to him in the past 30 years, so he doesn’t know what anyone’s capable of going there,” she added.

As a reminder, Glaser wasn’t afraid to talk about Brady’s personal life during the comedy special. “You have seven rings. Well, eight now that Gisele [Bündchen] gave hers back,” Glaser said about Brady’s ex.

In another moment, Glaser also poked fun at Brady’s former relationship and split with Bridget Moynahan. “Tom, you’re the best to ever play for too long, you retired then came back then retired, I get it … It’s hard to walk away from something that isn’t your pregnant girlfriend,” Glaser said, per Us Weekly. “To be fair he didn’t know, he just thought she was getting fat.”

Knowing Glaser’s stance on Brady’s mindset, we can understand why she was so ruthless.
