New mom Nikki Bella knows the importance of self-care.
On Wednesday, the Total Bellas star opened up about the steps she has made to take care of her mind, body and soul — all while being mom to 5-month-old son Matteo Artemovich.
"Self-care to me is definitely mental and physical," Nikki, 37, tells SheKnows in the Self-Care Digital issue. "I feel like mentally, when I'm taken care of, my outsides just look amazing. So I'm very big on meditation. Also I have a life coach. I just feel like we give our cars oil changes so they never break down. So why not do that to our souls and our minds so we don't have these meltdowns or get into certain places that we don't want to be in."
Nikki welcomed her son with fiancé Artem Chigvintsev on July 31.

"Sometimes I feel like people are like 'I have to work out hard-core five days a week to be healthy.' But that's not necessarily true for me," Brie says. "Self-care is about what makes you feel like the best you. For someone like me, power walking makes me feel really good. Being outside and pushing my baby and smelling the trees and the fresh air."
Last month, the reality stars appeared on Ashley Graham's Pretty Big Deal podcast and opened up about all things motherhood, including postpartum depression, as well as the pressure to "snap back" after giving birth.

"It's such bulls---," the sisters said before Nikki added, "It messes with you, 'cause [people are] like, 'But how is she?' Literally, someone the other day was like, 'Gosh, she's still big!' and I was like, 'Excuse me?' "
"She makes me grab parts of my body I don't like and I say, 'Thank you for creating Matteo and making him healthy,' and appreciating and loving my body. And it is weird how, slowly, you start to love it," Nikki said.
