Nik Bentel's Newest Bag Makes Electric Cords the Coolest Accessory

Creative visionary Nik Bentel is on a mission to see the beauty in the mundane.

His latest creation, the Electric Cord Bag, is made from a 25-foot outdoor electric cord and is set to launch in a limited-edition run of just 100 units. As always, Bentel draws inspiration from everyday life and aims to create tongue-in-cheek pieces that everyone can relate to. With this design, Bentel asks the question, "What really is a bag?" and encourages us to challenge our own perceptions and restraints of what fashion can be.

For the new bag, Bentel and his team tested up to 20 different iterations before designing the "perfect" one, with a painstaking process of gluing, molding and most importantly: preserving the cord for its intended use. The latter was a success because the Electric Cord Bag can still be plugged into the wall and used as a source of power and electricity.

The design takes inspiration from Fluxus' artwork, specifically "One of Three Chairs." The result aims to encourage its viewer to look to the world around them and be resourceful in their creations. The new bag follows a series of innovative designs from Bentel, including the Drip Bag, Espresso Martini Bag and of course -- the Pasta Bag.

The Electric Cord Bag is now available for purchase from Nik Bentel's website, priced at $59 USD.
