Of all the TV news we’ve been following, we definitely didn’t see this coming. Nicole Kidman is at the center some pretty major news pertaining to the HBO series Big Little Lies. And what she had to share is leaving us wanting more.

While attending a Q&A event at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, FL., The Hours Oscar-winner revealed a third season of Big Little Lies may finally be on the way. “We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI,” the actress said, per Vulture, in reference to the series. “I loved Big Little Lies,” she said, according to E! Online via DeuxMoi.

Kidman reflected on how the series “sort of came along at a time in my life when I had my children and I was thinking I was going to retire. And then this situation came along, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce that show and create that show. And then all of you watched it and made it a massive success,” she said, per E!.

Big Little Lies earned swaths of praise when it first hit HBO back in 2017. The show began as a murder mystery, following a group of women in affluent Monterey, CA., whose lives become inextricably connected through their children, and then through a terrifying crime. Two years later, the series returned for a second season, adding Meryl Streep to the cast.

In the last few years, cast members of the show, including Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Zoë Kravitz, and Shailene Woodley, have played it pretty coy about whether or not we’ll ever revisit the cast of characters. There’s not much beyond Kidman’s recent statement to suggest a third season will actually come to fruition. But if you ask us, we’re more than ready to see what’s next for the Monterey Five.
