Nicolas Cage may not keep up his prolific working pace moving forward.

Cage, 59, recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about his new movie Dream Scenario and touched on his upcoming 60th birthday. While the Academy Award-winning actor is well known for the sheer volume of films he has made — 116 onscreen credits since his first role in the 1981 television movie The Best of Times, per iMDB — Cage noted he may slow down after his next birthday in January.

"So 60 is coming up. I'd like to read a book a week," he told the outlet, when asked about the upcoming milestone birthday. "I want to spend more time with my daughter. I'm taking stock of what's really important. Maybe not make quite as many movies."

Cage welcomed a daughter, August Francesca Coppola Cage, in September 2022 with his wife Riko Shibata, whom he married in February 2021. August is Cage's third child; He was already a father to sons Kal-El, 18, and Weston, 32, from previous relationships.

"It's profound, yeah. Totally new experience," he shared of life with his youngest child.
"I love it."

Cage stars in Dream Scenario after also appearing this year in the films Sympathy for the Devil and The Retirement Plan. In Dream Scenario, he plays college professor Paul Matthews, who "finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams," per an official synopsis of the movie.

"In many ways this movie is an analysis of fame and how it can turn on you... anyone can become famous now," Cage shared during his interview with Entertainment Tonight. "We all have cell phones, we can videotape anybody at any moment. But more importantly, I think this movie is about dreams — I feel it's one of my best performances."

August's younger brother, Francis Ford Coppola, is The Godfather trilogy director. At the Toronto International Film Festival world premiere of Dream Scenario in September, Cage told PEOPLE that he enjoys getting to see his father when he dreams.
