Nicky Hilton Rothschild is sticking up for her family.

The mom of three, 40, attended the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year event on Tuesday night, where she opened up to Page Six about sister Paris Hilton and the rude comments she's faced online regarding 8-month-old son Phoenix's head size.

"I think that if you are bullying an infant then you have serious issues and you really [have to] take a look at yourself," she leveled. "It’s so demented."

Last month, the new mom, 42, posted a series of photos of her son, whom she shares with her husband Carter Reum, on Instagram to mark Phoenix's first trip to New York City. Shortly after sharing, a TikTok user pointed out the negative responses on the post, prompting Paris to reply that her "angel is perfectly healthy" and "just has a large brain."

She then expanded on her response to comments about her son's head in an Instagram Story. “Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else's for that matter, is unacceptable," she began.

Paris wrote that the public's response "deeply" hurt her. "This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe. I’ve worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return," wrote the new mom.

The Paris in Love star added that navigating motherhood as a social media personality has put her under scrutiny.

“If I don't post my baby, people assume I'm not a great mother and if I do post him, there are some people who are cruel and hateful I'm a proud working mom and my baby is perfectly healthy, adorable and angelic,” Paris wrote, adding that her son has become the “biggest blessing” in her life.

“I've dreamt of being a mom for as long as I can remember,” she explained. “Every day with him is a reminder of what truly matters.”

Paris concluded, “It's hard to fathom that there are people in the world who would target such innocence. I hope that people can treat one another with more kindness and empathy.”

Nicky — who shares a 16-month-old son and daughter Theodora "Teddy" Marilyn, 5, and Lily-Grace Victoria, 6, with husband  James Rothschild — caught up with PEOPLE at the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards last month, where she raved about getting to spend time with Paris and Phoenix while they were visiting.

"My sister is in town with her son Phoenix and it's really cute," Nicky said. "My kids are having playdates with her kids every day after school. They don't visit New York often so it's fun to have all the cousins together."

"They're also going to the park in Washington Square. It's been beautiful fall weather," she added.

Paris and Reum quietly welcomed their first child together on Jan. 16 via surrogate after tying the knot in 2021. Paris announced Phoenix's arrival eight days after his birth on Instagram with a close-up photo of her holding his hand, writing, "You are already loved beyond words 💙."
